How is My CIA Exam Score calculated?
What is the CIA Exam Structure?
The CIA exam is divided into three parts. Each part contains the following Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and lasts the following time:
for Internal Auditing
Because each exam is drawn from a large database of questions, each exam is unique and varies in difficulty.
The CIA Exams do not include any essays or simulations.
All MCQs are calculated equally
A simple question about a definition is worth as much as a long question involving numerous calculations.
There are no consequences for incorrect answers.
Even if you have to guess, never leave a question unanswered. A 25 percent chance is preferable to a 0% chance.
Mark questions to review later
After you’ve gone through all of the questions, you can go back and look at the marked questions.
Then, How is My Result Determined?
The CIA Exam yields a scaled score ranging from 250 to 750 points. To pass, you must obtain a score of 600.
Note: A score of 600 does not equate to a score of 70%. It’s just a number, not a percentage of anything.
When you finish your exam, you will be given your preliminary exam results right away. Within 24 to 48 hours, the official results will be emailed to you.
So, what percentage of the questions must I answer correctly in order to pass?
To be sure of passing, you must answer at least 75% of the questions correctly.
If your exam was considered more difficult than the average, you could pass with a score as low as 70%.
